GiGi – we love you! x

This is in memory of my Grandma, Dorothy, a wonderful mother, loving Grandma and even more loving Great Grandmother (GiGi).
Sadly Grandma died on Tuesday at 10am with her daughters Gail (my Mum), Pat (who lives in Adelaide) and Judy (from Colorado).  They were holding her hands as she slipped away into a warm and loving peace.
Grandma was almost 93.  Had 6 children, 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.  She travelled the world, flew on concorde and never ever stopped being a true lady.  Even at the bitter end Grandma managed to look beautiful, frail and weak, yet always gorgeous and immaculately turned out.  It was very sad to watch as some-one’s life comes to an end.  But we all got to say good-bye, tell her we loved her and be happy for her that she has got her wish and now rests in peace.  It touches a raw nerve for us all who never got to say good-bye to our wonderful Dad.  No way of dying can be considered good for those left behind, but for Grandma we need to celebrate her life.  She was a wonderful lady who kept her sense of humour up to the end (pretending to her children that she has died – and then move and gave them a fright!)
The best thing we can do is remember the laughs we all had and keep them alive by always laughing together!

Rest in peace Grandma and give Grandpa and Dad a big hug from us all. x x x
